Exercise: Website Analysis

Website 1: Cosmos Studio

Purpose and Goals

Cosmos Studio (a company based of Kyiv, Ukraine) created this website is to showcase their abilities to make high quality websites such as their own (the one i am showing right now) they claimed to be a small studio with highly talented designer and professionals but as we can see they are not joking about having highly talented members in the studio. Their goal is to make Kyiv the world capital of design as it's stated in their website.

Design and Layout

A very futuristic yet simple and minimal design, they rely on a pixel and techy interface and glowing black and white layouts without anything extra, it is clean, crowded by tidy and they really go all out on the space theme. They did a very good job on the UI, smooth, show casing that they are not bluffing when they say that they could create high level of creativity website with stunning layouts.

Content

They are very straightforward when it comes to the content itself, showcasing that they could do web designs, products, brands with high level of creativity in a single click of a link and winning awards for UI/UX design award by CSS.

Functionality

The web itself provides a jump link to go straight to the section that you wanted to see without opening a new tab or you can scroll down and witness the amazing astronaut dancing while showcasing their awards and each scroll you do there is a unique animation so you won't feel bored just looking at the content alone.

Website 2: Otherlife Labs

Purpose and Goals

Otherlife Labs is a virtual car showroom website for the car lovers (such as myself), here we can admire our dream car with multiple choices of colors for the body and the brakes. So far they have 4 car models (Lamborghini, McLaren, Nissan and Ferrari) that you can customize and who knows you might buy one.

Design and Layout

This website goes straight into the car showcase and depending on the customization you made to the car you chose, not only the layout is very easy to figure out and navigate, they also give you a choice between performance or quality so it can match with your device's performance making it smooth and you will have no difficulties customizing your car.

Content

There is not much to the content other than customizing your dream car because the website is all about a virtual car showroom but, i can say that the options of the customization itself is pretty packed with colors and other options to look at (Car interior, opening doors and Livery, Background).

Functionality

The sole purpose of this website is to satisfy the car lovers, to build their dream car, it may not have the exact components and parts that they want but at the very least they get to experience different types of cars in different types of colors and they also considering people with low end devices and that is why they made the option to choose between prioritizing quality or performance.

Website 3: Laugh Mind Co.,Ltd.

Purpose and Goals

Laugh Mind Co is a company based from Japan (Tokyo) specializing in giving brand solutions in terms of usability and motion graphics. They also specializes in web design and one of them actually won another award from CSS and it is on the website's site of the day section.

Design and Layout

Looking at this, i can see that they are going for some sort of abstract kind of design with a very cool transition of zooming out to the eye and each fast movement of the cursor produces a bunch of random pictures going with it. Not only that, there also have some detective style kind of design to act as a link to their works, information about their member and conveying their messages.

Content

The content itself is quite simple and straightforward since they went straight into their works via document like links featuring their members, projects, message and contact information for business enquires. It is also filled with their motives, vision and goals.

Functionality

Just like Cosmos studio, Laugh Mind is also a website that mainly focuses on creating websites and brand identity with interactable effects providing smooth and exciting experience. They also made it compact by showing their goals, company information and motives while you are scrolling.

Website 4: Day Loog

Purpose and Goals

Day Loog is a website specifically for recording daily events and other people's emotion. Anxiety, depression, challenges given by God, they provide with information regarding those and who ever needs it, to help people overcome those emotions and becoming better person.

Design and Layout

The design itself is very simple and to be frank there really is nothing going on other than them giving us options to switch from text mode to image mode despite having cool and smooth transition to switch modes and also the picture and the tittle didn't really match or maybe it's just part of the design, i just think they could do more but then again it is website to record everyday emotions.

Content

As for the content, i think it's great that there is someone created a website for human emotions and challenges because there is a lot of people out there that may be going through the same thing but the person can't really do anything or don't know what to do to solve it and this website is to act as reference in hopes of helping people to overcome the problem they have. 

Functionality

This website is pretty different than the other ones that i come to see from, while other websites promoting their work or showing some 3D modeled supercars Day Loog in particular provides references or maybe solutions to overcome challenges we may face and they are also very straightforward to just give you the big tittle as you enter the website.

Website 5: AMANATION

Purpose and Goals

AMANATION is a company based from Tokyo, Japan filled with talented illustrators with a goal of creating a new generation of entertainment with unique art works and art styles. Some of the creators are also in charge of big events such as the 45th anniversary of Pac-Man Tiktok project

Design and Layout

Simple modern style website and the arts that they made as the main viewpoint for the people who visited this website not only that they also got simple transitions with each scroll and nothing to crazy going on because they really focused on showcasing the art works that they made instead of going all out on the website design.

Content

They created many art that piqued my interest and mind you there are some arts that are only for grown up peoples but they are not afraid to show it because it is art, they also showcased other creator's art and the many different art styles provides more dynamic and diversity not only that, they also showcased the big projects that they were in charged of.

Functionality

This website is for people that wants to see some arts that could be called different because here it could be anything, easy to navigate around because as you scroll you will see the information about the company and the creators that made the art themselves and when you click the picture you will be directed to another page and it gives you the creators/talents brief biography and business inquires.
