This topic has certainly been an experience filled with highs and lows. A particularly difficult aspect for me was designing a font influenced by Adventure Time. I envisioned the concept clearly, but turning it into real letterforms proved to be significantly more challenging than I anticipated. Despite conducting research, I remained uncertain. Fortunately, I relied on my friends for input, and their encouragement truly enabled me to persevere. Task 2, in which I needed to create my own brand, was equally demanding. I went through countless revisions that made me feel like I'd never achieve the correct outcome. At times, I thought about quitting, but reflecting now, I'm thankful I persevered. That experience educated me significantly about patience, handling criticism, and avoiding acceptance of the initial thought that arises.
Observations:
Throughout these tasks, I spent a lot of time observing how others approached their work—whether it was classmates, seniors, or online references. Seeing all the different styles and ways of thinking gave me new ideas and helped me realize there isn’t one “right” way to do design. I also became more aware of the small things—like spacing, layout, and transitions—and how those subtle details can completely change how a design feels or communicates.
Findings:
What I’ve learned most is that design isn’t just about what looks nice—it has to make sense and connect with people. I used to focus a lot on aesthetics, but now I understand that clarity, function, and intention are just as important. I’ve also gotten more confident using the tools and software, and I’m starting to understand typography and visual systems more deeply. Above all, this subject showed me how valuable feedback and collaboration really are. It’s not always easy, but that back-and-forth process is where real improvement happens.
