DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND IMAGING (DPI) - Week 9

This week is another online class

Although, the teacher did gave us some more insight regarding the task that were given to us in the previous week. We were asked to make a poster with the theme being "Quote of the Day" where we would find some positive quotes and turn them into posters.

Beginning 

The quote that i have chosen is "Connect with your Soul" essentially, it means to let go of anything that is holding you back from the past and move on.

Sketch / Idea

My idea here is to have my model person to stand in front of a mirror while touching the mirror with his/her hands or fingertips and the reflection of the mirror is emitting some sort of mist like smoke.

Here is the sketch that i do in a graph paper, it may seems senseless at first because of the horrible presentation but, the idea of the text is "CONNECT" being behind the mirror "WITH YOUR" is a free place text, it is not yet fixed where i want to put it and "SOUL" being in the mirror coming out from the smoke.

Process

So first, i masked myself and added some foggy effect using some blurs and cloud effect, i also duplicate the mask to add an echo effect behind my reflection.

Using Adobe Illustrator, i made the text "Connect With Your Soul" using a smoky brush tool and paste it to Photoshop as layers.

As the color, i used Curves, Photo Filter and Color Lookup to make it a bit bluish magenta.
