DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND IMAGING (DPI) - Week 6
Week 6
Manual Recoloring
This week is another online class, after checking the previous assignment which is the Hearst Mansion, the lecturer gave us an assignment to recolor black and white pictures.
First, i did the face by creating a layer and using brush tool to color all parts of the face until the neck, then blend it into overlay
Coloring the lips
Third, the hair
The eyes
The eyebrows
Next the shirt
Lastly, the background
Every layer in the photo is using overlay as the blending mode
Advanced Recoloring
This is the advanced version from the picture above
I started off with the earring first, masking the earring then make a solid color, drag the mask to the solid color and change the blending mode to soft light
Next i did the hair, with the same step but i refined it more using the refine brush tool to make it smoother and change the blending mode to soft light
Third i did the face and repeating the same step like before but this time the blending mode is color
For the lips and teeth is a little tricky, because the quick selection tool automize the selection of its surroundings, it is hard for me to mask out the teeth
Doing the fur the easiest part of this picture because it is in such a big scale and the quick selection tool can pick it up
Lastly i did the background by creating a new layer then edit > fill > change the contents to color then, using the object selection tool i mask the person and mask it then right click the mask then click add mask to selection layer then apply it to the fill background
Project 2: Digital Imaging exercise 02-PART2
The second person i did is this guy, his skin is the most tricky part for me because of finding the color that suit his skin and the blending mode
The third person is this Korean singer, this picture is the easiest for me to color because of his atmosphere giving a cool guy vibe, and the technique i used is a mixed between the Advanced Recolor and Manual Recolor, i only did his eyes manually to give a slight color and the rest is using mask
